We can help you organize accommodation and work in London. We have many social activities and excursions in the UK.

Guide to living in London:
Living Cost
You should need about £45-75 weekly. This will cover travel, lunch and other things you may need to buy.

Accommodation costs
The cost of accommodation always depends on the area, size and quality. A decent standard of accommodation is usually at least £165 a week or more. If you would like us to arrange your accommodation or travel before you arrive, please tell us.

Getting a Student Visa: Non-EU students only
For a student Visa you will need to be issued a confirmation of acceptance to study. We cannot provide this so we cannot assist you in applying for a Visa. Although, there is no such thing as illegal studying, it is the students responsibility to check that they are legally allowed to study in the UK. We do accept students who have tourist visas or work visas.

Working in London:
As a full time student you are permitted to work. You will need a national insurance number which is easily available from the department for work and pensions. If you are from Romania of Bulgaria you may need to apply for a work permit or yellow card.

Opening a bank account:

The law has recently been changed to make it more difficult for international students to open bank accounts. The School can help you to open a bank account. We have information packs on this available at the school. The four main high street banks are Barclay's, HSBC, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland. To open an account you will need to show proof of ID, such as a passport or driving license and proof of address such as a bill or bank statement. We can help you to open a bank account and provide a reference letter when you arrive in the United Kingdom.

Travel
The best way to travel is by bike or public transport. Used bikes are available at a low cost and you can sell them on when you leave. For public transport always use Transport for London oyster cards as they save you money. We can help you to get a student discount on London travel depending on whether your course qualifies for it.

Medical
Registering with a doctor is sensible if you will be staying for more than 12 weeks. If you are from outside the EU you may have to pay for any medical care. For EU citizens medical care is usually free. We can offer help and advice on how to do this at the school.
