London is one of the best places in the world to study English and certainly the most popular place in England to learn English.

Many people find it easier to have extra help from the school when they first arrive in England we have much information on this website and from the school about arriving in London and the welfare officers at reception are more than happy to help you with everything you need.

Your Arrival in Britain

Going to London

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers can be arranged by London Language Centre if requested. Arrival information and flight details must be sent to us as soon as possible and please indicate clearly your arrival airport - Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton or London City Airport.

You will be met at the arrival gate by a representative. If you do not see the the representative, please go to the Airport Information Desk and call our Emergency Number which you will receive in your booking confirmation.

If you are making your own travel arrangements to London, we will ensure you have full details of your homestay, residence or hotel address on arrival in the UK.

Travel From Airports

There are many airports close to London:

  • Stansted Airport*: 1 hour by train to London Liverpool Street
  • Luton Airport*: 40 minutes by train to London St. Pancreas
  • Heathrow Airport*: 1 hour by London Underground to London Victoria
  • Gatwick*: 30 minutes by train to London Victoria
  • London City Airport* : 30 minutes by shuttle bus to Liverpool Street

    *Please note: airport transfers can only be done through arrangement with the school and are not included in the course or accommodation price.

    How to get to the School
     
    The school is located close to many transport points. There are several bus routes to the school. The school is nearby Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court road tube stations.



    Your First Day at London Language Centre

    Welcome Talk


    You need to arrive at 8.45am for the short welcome tour of the school by a member of the student services team. They will show you the school's facilities and explain where to find all the information you may need.

    Placement Test

    At 9am you will begin a placement Test. You will be tested on all areas of your English (Speaking, listening, reading and written comprehension). Fro
    m this testing session the academic manager will talk to you and the place you in the correct level group.

    If your course begins in the afternoon, you are still welcome to attend the morning welcome session and placement test. However, if your are unable to attend in the morning we have another placement test session in the afternoon at 12.00pm.

    Welcome Event

    At 10.00am and 1.30pm every Monday the school has a Welcome tea party where students can enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits or cake. This is held at the school or another venue. We welcome new students to attend as it is an excellent opportunity to meet other students on your course and in the school.

    At reception you will be given a schedule of your classes and information about your class.
